Preserve Our Water
Water sustains just about all life on Earth – humans, animals, marine life and plants depend on water for survival.
Less well known though, is only a tiny fraction — less than 1% -- of the Earth’s water is both fresh and useable for human consumption. And threats like our growing population, climate change and pollution are reducing the amount of available water daily. Even in Ontario, with our abundance of lakes, this is true!
Water is a precious resource we must protect and conserve.
We must be more mindful of what we pour down the drain – harsh cleaners should be avoided and hazardous liquids should be disposed of at appropriate depots.
We also have to work harder to conserve the clean water we have – and there are hundreds of easy ways to reduce our wasting of water.
